A student looking for work and internship opportunities

I'm a Business Administration student at The University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in Information Systems and Business Analytics with a minor certificate in Enterprise Resource Planning. I expect to graduate in May 2027.

I'm looking for an internship or part-time role where I can apply my technical, data analysis and problem-solving skills. I'm most interested in data analytics, IT support and systems analysis, and in helping a team make decisions based on data.

Before UTEP, I worked as a power generation technician at Cummins, a torque and tension specialist on wind turbines, and a processing coordinator with the Department of Homeland Security. Those jobs taught me to follow procedures, keep accurate records and solve problems on site. Today I work at UTEP's Military Student Success Center, where I track data and build reports in Excel.

Problem
The center faced an audit by the Veterans Affairs education auditing program, with records spread across different data stores.
What I did
Collected records from each source, revised and validated documents against the program's guidelines, and expanded secure physical storage to meet the 5-year retention requirement.

Outcome: helped the center pass the VA audit.

Problem
Day-to-day activity at a busy student services office needed to be measured and reported.
What I did
Entered and tracked operational data, then built repeatable reports using Power Query to clean and shape the data and pivot tables to summarize it.

Outcome: regular metrics reports for the center's staff.

Field service process improvement

Problem
Generator service work had to stay efficient while every job was documented accurately for estimates, warranty and billing.
What I did
Analyzed my work metrics and applied the 5S method (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). I managed service data in InPower, Insite and Quickserve.

Outcome: kept productivity KPIs at 90% and improved customer satisfaction ratings.
